Get Started

Your agent runs where you want it, and moves in one command. Start it on your own computer, where it's free and private. When it should answer with your laptop closed, move it to a machine in your own AWS or Google Cloud account, and bring it back whenever you like. Your files live in your own clouds, and anything you run can have a public address.

lnk agent move aws # to your box in AWS, made if you have none
lnk agent move main here # and back
lnk bucket push ~/Photos # your folder, in every cloud you connected
lnk tunnel open 3000 --name my-app --auth friend:secret # a public address for it

Moving your agent, and what comes along: Move Machines.

On your computer

Your agent starts here, with lnk agent start, and keeps running in the background. It answers only while this computer is on. On a Linux server it keeps running after you log out: Agents.

On a box

lnk up boxes # the cloud, box, vpn and accounts plugins
lnk auth login # GitHub: your boxes are tagged as yours
lnk cloud connect aws # or gcp: your own account
lnk agent new helper --on aws-1 # a new agent, there from the start

A box is an Ubuntu machine in your own account, with lnk on it, signed in as you. Your cloud bills you; Local Link bills nothing. Make, stop and remove them: Boxes.

Your files, in your buckets

lnk up buckets
lnk bucket push photos/2019 # to every cloud, then checked

Your folders and your agent's, in every cloud you connect, checked, so it's safe to delete them here. Your agent's backups go there too: Buckets.

A public address

lnk up tunnels
lnk tunnel open 3000 --name my-app --auth friend:secret # https://my-app.<you>.local.link

A public URL for anything running on your computer, a web app or a model, with nothing to set up on your router: Tunnels.

From your home address

lnk agent exit home # your agent on a box reaches the internet from this computer
lnk agent exit direct # from the box it runs on

With exit home, this computer stays awake and carries the box's traffic, so sites see you, not a data center. With it off, your agent on the box has no internet at all: VPN.
