VPN
Make your computer a box's way out to the internet: the sites a box visits see your home address, not the cloud's.
Needs: macOS or Linux, and a box (lnk up boxes) or any machine you
reach over SSH.
lnk vpn exit aws-1 home # aws-1's traffic can leave from here
lnk vpn list # the exits this computer keeps, and for whom
lnk vpn exit aws-1 off # stopMake your computer a box's exit
lnk vpn exit aws-1 home
lnk vpn exit me@server home # any machine you SSH toThe box gets a SOCKS5 proxy on its own 127.0.0.1:40780, and its
connections leave from your computer. A program on the box has to use
the proxy. The exit runs in the background over the SSH you already
have, and your Mac stays awake while it's an exit.
For an agent on a box, lnk agent exit home uses the exit for you.
Stop
lnk vpn exit aws-1 offThe exit stops once nobody holds it: you, or an agent exiting from home on that box.
What to know
- It carries TCP only: web requests, APIs, Telegram.
- It needs your computer on and online; without it, the box has no way home.
- Nothing listens on your computer, and the proxy is on the box's loopback only. Anything running on the box can use your home address while the exit is up.
Every flag: lnk vpn --help.
